Did you know that your ductless heat pump has filters that need to be cleaned routinely? Well  just like a dryer or vacuum, the filters inside will help increase the efficiency, longevity and overall operation of your heat pump system.

If this is news to you… or you need a refresher, keep reading!

Heat pump filters should be cleaned approximately every 3 months or as needed.

Do you have pets?

Have you renovated recently?

Have you moved into a new construction home with sawdust or drywall dust still floating around?

Then it’s possible your filters need to be cleaned more often.

Watch this video or read the steps below.

Here are the steps to do this properly:

  1. To clean your filters, turn off your unit by processing the “off” button on your remote.
  2. Gently lift open the front cover. If you have a Daikin heat pump, then there should be a tab on each side of the unit to help you open it.
  3. Pop out the filter(s).
  4. Wash with warm water or gently vacuum.
  5. Leave them to air dry.
  6. Once dry, pop them back into the heat pump by sliding them back in the same way they came out.
  7. Close the cover gently.
  8. Turn the heat pump back on by using your remote.

And that’s it!
